Education to Career Pathways show the necessary steps to achieve your career goals.
Business Administration Careers
Business Administration consists of behind the scene jobs that make businesses run successfully and ensure employees have all the necessary information and resources. Some common positions in the business sector are Administrative Assistants/Secretaries, Human Resources Assistants, and Marketing Assistants.
Child Development Careers
Child Development consists of teaching and educating preschool to middle school students. This career is important because it is designed to promote the social and intellectual growth of children.
Community Service Careers
Community Service professions focus on working with people and communities to identify resources, such as job placement, counseling, financial services, and any necessary support individuals may need.
Computer Support Careers
Computer Support professions use their technology expertise to help customers, provide technical assistance, and answer questions regarding computer software.
Customer Service Careers
Customer Service is a career that opens many employment opportunities, such as sales, banking, hotel management, retail management, and even healthcare services. The skills learned in Customer Service can be used in almost all job roles and these skills open many doors for individuals new to the workforce.
Healthcare – Administration Careers
Health Administration primarily focuses on the insurance/billing and scheduling side of healthcare. Examples of career paths in Health Administration are Healthcare Billing Specialists and Medical Secretaries.
Healthcare – Technology Careers
Healthcare Technology is focused primarily on operating technology used in hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare settings. The jobs consist of Radiology Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, or Sonography Technicians.
Healthcare – Patient Focused Careers
In Patient Focused Careers, depending on the level of training, the job responsibilities may consist of assisting patients with using the restroom/bathing or measuring patient’s vital signs. Examples of career paths in Patient Focused Careers are Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses, or Registered Nurses.
Law Enforcement & Fire Protection Careers
Law Enforcement and Fire Protection are two careers that keep our society safe and out of harm’s way. Law Enforcement deals with street patrol and community safety, while Firefighters primarily focus on preventing/extinguishing fires. Both of these careers require specialized training through either a Police Academy or Fire Academy.
Skilled Trades Careers
Skilled Trades are careers where you can receive training through a California Apprentice Program. These trainings are free for people who are interested in receiving training through a trades program. Most apprentice programs are five years long and consist of both classroom training and hands-on training – which means individuals will be able to get paid while going to school.
